Frank Chimento, 88 of Nashua, NH died Sunday November 11, 2018 at Mount Alverno in Warwick, NY.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on September 13, 1930 he was the son of the late Patsquale and Catherine (Giganti) Chimento
Frank served in the United States Army from 1951-1954 during the Koren War.
Frank was a lifetime boxing enthusiast and for more than 40 years was a boxing coach and trainer, most proudly for the Nashua Police Athletic League "PAL". He was nominated as "Coach of the Year" in 2011. In 2018 was honored again by the dedication and renaming of the PAL gym, to be now known as "Frank's Gym".
Always a "coach", the passion in his soul was to guide young people in the right direction.
He was predeceased by his brother Patrick Chimento of OH; very recently by his longtime loving companion Carla Comeau of Nashua, NH
Survivors include five sons, Joseph Jude Chimento. of PA, Frank Joseph Chimento Jr., Patrick Chimento, Anthony Chimento, all of NY, and John Ellender Chimento, of CA; one daughter Catherine Laura Chimento of NY. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
SERVICES: A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 am at St. John XXIII Parish at Infant Jesus Church, 121 Allds St., Nashua, NH 03060. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may meet at the church. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 5:00pm – 7:00 pm at the Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock St., Nashua, NH 03064. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank’s loving memory to: PAL Boxing Club, c/o Nashua Police Athletic League, 52 Ash St., Nashua, NH 03060. Committal prayers and burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery, 752 West Hollis St., Nashua, NH 03062.
