Obituary for Albert Alfred Blais

Albert Blais of Nashua, NH, died peacefully on October 4, 2022, at the age of 87. He was born in Notre Dame de Bois, Quebec, Canada and was the son of Elzear & Yvonne (Mercier) Blais. He was the oldest brother to Therese (Normand Dube) Armande (Reginald Turgeon) Rhea (Yvon Fortier) Clement (Cecile Pouliot) and Donald (Lucie Forget), all from Quebec, Canada.

Albert and his wife, Therese, were married for 59 years and made their home in Upton, ME. He was a logger in his earlier years but learned the carpentry trade and was a retired drywaller.

“Ti’bert”, as he was known by his family and friends, was an avid hockey and baseball fan and enjoyed television and playing cribbage. Card games, along with watching The Andy Griffith show and old Westerns will forever be a pleasant reminder for his family. He often told stories of his ancestors and liked to reminisce about the olden days. Car rides which often included him singing or humming a tune will be missed.

He was a gentle and sensitive man, who cried many tears of joy, especially for anything that involved his grandchildren, whom he treasured. They are gifted with many fond memories of their “Pepere”, like fishing at the Kids Pond and Umbagog Lake, getting their feet tickled, and building birdhouses together in his shed.

He is survived by his loving wife, Therese, his two daughters, Linda Coulombe and her husband Jean of Milford, NH and Nancy Roy and her husband, Richard of Nashua, NH, and his grandchildren, Justine Roy and her fiancé, Nick Riendeau, Adam Roy, and Alyssa Coulombe. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Keegan Coulombe.
