Obituary for Barbara Edith Calawa (Ford)
Barbara Edith (Ford) Calawa, age 86, of Milford, NH, formerly of Pepperell, was called home to God on August 4, 2022.
She was born in Nashua, on Jan. 21, 1936, daughter of the late Arthur & Emma (Glover) Ford. She attended Nashua Schools and was a graduate of Nashua High class of 1953. She was also among the first graduating class of the MA homemaker’s re-entry program. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by North Middlesex High School in Townsend, MA, the White Hen in Pepperell, MA, and Ames Department store in Milford, NH.
Barbara enjoyed staying at home, watching television, and using apps on her Kindle Fire.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Richard (Ricky) and Dale Calawa, ex-husband, Andrew Calawa, great-grandson, Levi Flannery, and daughter-in-law, Mary Calawa. She leaves behind her children, Mike Calawa and his wife, Nancy of MA, Robyn Aho of MA, Andrea Lique of NH, Alan Calawa, Kay Calawa, Alice Calawa, Bill Calawa, and John Calawa and his wife, Margie all of MA. She also leaves behind her brother, Ralph “Speedy” Ford, 15 grandchildren (& their significant others), 26 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
SERVICES: In accordance with her wishes, services will be private with interment at Edgewood Cemetery in Nashua.
