Obituary for Linda Sprague "Lynn" Kenney (Sprague)

Linda Sprague Kenney, 75, died on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at Southern NH Medical Center in Nashua. She was born on March 10, 1944 in Springfield, MA, daughter of the late E. Russell and Julie (Jones) Sprague.

She was the wife of the late Donald J. Kenney, Sr. who passed on March 1, 1990. They were married on June 25, 1972.

Linda graduated pro-merito from Monson High School in Monson, MA. She went on to earn her BA in education from Rivier College in Nashua. She also attended Mt. Ida Jr. College in Newton, MA and Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico. She worked as a 1st grade teacher at Nottingham West Elementary School in Hudson.

Throughout her life, Lynn was a member of the Hudson Jr. Women’s Club (1970-1971), Church of the Good Shepherd Shut-Ins program (1970-1976), Spina-Bifida Association, and the Nashua Area Retired Educators Association. In her free time she enjoyed piano playing, doll collecting, reading poetry, needlepoint, and attending yard sales with her grandson Derek.

Lynn was a devoted, loving and caring mother to her three sons, whom she loved with all her heart. Lynn could accomplish anything she set her mind to do. Lynn was one of the kindest people you could ever meet, she opened her heart and her home to many family members and children over the years and she will be sorely missed. “To know her was to love her.”

She is survived by her three sons and their families, Kenneth T. Ives and his son Derek of Nashua, Aaron C. Ives and his daughter Amanda of Nashua, and Phillip D. Kenney, his wife Cassandra, and their daughters Emma and Adaline of Nashua, three other grandchildren, Katelyn, Bethany and Micaelagh Cullen of Lowell, MA; her two sisters, Dian Reed and her husband James of Westfield, MA and Nancy Chouinard and her husband David of Brimfield, MA. And a brother, Russell A. Sprague and his wife Karen of Brimfield, MA. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildrenn, nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Piccolina.

SERVICES: Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2020, 10am-12pm, at Davis Funeral Home, One Lock Street in Nashua. A Funeral Service will immediately follow visitation, 12pm, at the Funeral Home. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment prayers and burial will follow at St. Louis de Gonzague Cemetery in Nashua.
