Bruce David Giannetta, 72, of Nashua, NH and longtime resident of Bedford, MA, died October 23, 2022 in Merrimack, NH.
He was born on September 21, 1950 in Malden, MA, the son of Salvatore Giannetta and Nicolina (Nellie) Capone Giannetta. Raised in Bedford, MA, Bruce attended Bedford High School, graduating in 1968. After High School, Bruce joined the United States Navy during the Vietnam War where he reached the rank of Petty Officer 2, while serving as a jet mechanic, from 1968-1972.
Bruce returned to Bedford where he married Lynda Giannetta (Colangelo) of Lexington, MA. They raised their two children, Carla and David, in Bedford, where he enjoyed watching his children’s sporting events as he cheered from the stands and sidelines. He took the Bedford Flooring family business (founded by his father, Salvatore Giannetta, in 1955) and grew the company’s reputation for craftsmanship, even appearing on “This Old House.” Later, he grew a fondness for the IT industry, continuing to grow his skills. Bruce ended his career working for Middlesex Community College as the Building Maintenance Supervisor on the Bedford, MA campus.
Bruce married Rosangela Dos Santos Giannetta in 2002 in Nashua, NH. They resided there for the past 20 years, where Bruce enjoyed time with his wife and family, spending time with his grandchildren, listening to a very wide range of music, his coffee, and of course, working on projects.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Rosangela Dos Santos Giannetta, her son Guilherme Tonon Giannetta, his children; daughter Carla Murphy (Giannetta), husband Kenneth Murphy of Hanover, MA and their children: Selena, Owen, & Riley and his son David Giannetta, wife Stacie Giannetta (Kanniard) of Littleton, MA and their children: Delaney, Ada, & Nico. Bruce had an infectious smile, a skill set that could fix just about anything, cooking skills rivaled only by trained chefs and a generous, warm loving heart which will be deeply missed by his family and friends. 143 Dad
