Cameron Andrew Steckler died unexpectedly at the age of 25 on April 10, 2020 in Manchester, NH, where he resided for the past several years. He was born June 1, 1994 in Midland, MI and grew up in Nashua, NH.
A gifted writer, photographer and amateur astronomer, Cameron graduated from Nashua High School South with honors in 2012. He attended classes at Georgia Tech University and most recently Emerson College, where he studied screenwriting. A tireless advocate for those struggling with mental illness, addiction and homelessness, Cameron participated in a variety of community oriented events, most recently serving as an observer at polling stations in the February primary.
Cameron leaves behind a heartbroken community of family and friends whom he loved dearly and who loved him unconditionally in return. Survivors include: his mother Donna J. Baxter of Hudson, FL; his father David K. Steckler and wife Wendy of Hollis, NH; his brother and sister-in-law, Christian A. Steckler and Katy Devine Steckler, and their daughters --his beloved nieces, Felicity and Melody, of Newmarket, NH; his brother, Anderson C. Steckler, of Hollis, NH; and step-siblings, Kieran, Emelia and Constance Mulligan, of Hollis, NH. He also leaves to remember him his maternal grandmother, Norma J. Settle of Bay City, MI; and paternal grandparents Kenneth D. and Irene M. Steckler of Lititz, PA. Additionally, he is survived by aunt Tracey Moffett and husband Jackie of Ypsilanti, MI; uncle William J. White Jr. of Ann Arbor, MI and uncle Roy Schalk and wife Jan of Bay City, MI; Godparents Douglass and Katherine Hanley of Exton, Pennsylvania; Great Grand Aunt Sr. Bernadine Schmalhofer of Philadelphia PA; and many cherished cousins.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather Donald L. Schalk of Bay City, MI.
A private burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Nashua, NH. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
