Obituary for Carol P. Marshall

Carol Priscilla Marshall, 93 a resident at Nashua Crossings in Nashua NH transitioned to heaven on a sunny Spring morning April 21, 2023, at St Joseph's hospital. The daughter of Roy F and Kittie (Grover) Marshall was the last sibling of the Marshall generation to cross over. Her brothers Lewis, Theodore, William, John, James, George, and sister Eleanor were waiting for her with loving arms. She was also predeceased by her oldest sister Gladys Shirley, nieces Cheryl Dugas and Muriel Marshall and nephews Stephen and Christopher Marshall.

While in high school, Carol worked at the family business, Holbrook Marshall Wholesale Grocer until she graduated from Nashua High Senior class of 1947. She then went on to graduate Nashua Business College with a 2-year degree. She put on that business pant suit and then proceeded to make her mark. Carol worked at Montgomery Ward and then at Sanders Associates (now BAE Systems) where she spent her entire 30+ year career as the company librarian. Her “side hustle” was making and decorating birthday cakes for some of the employees. After retiring, she filled her time with using up many ink cartridges to create colorful greeting cards of all kinds. You were special if you received one. ♥

Carol was a member of the Christian Women's Club and participated in many trips, events, and bible studies. She was a member of an eclectic group of friends called the “Ladies of the Lake” who took annual summer trips to the Carr's summer home on Lake Sebago in Maine. Her proudest achievement was her active role spanning 70 years in Nashua's Community Concert organization where she ultimately became President. She booked acts, sold tickets, and stood on that stage to address the audience - always in something sparkly. Her life was filled with being a loving aunt, raising her cats Snowball and Buffy, tirelessly spending election days and nights with her brother Bill at the ward registering the voters of Nashua, watching her favorite team the Boston Red Sox play, singing in the choir at Pilgrim Church and eventually at the First Church of Nashua. In her final years, Carol has been a resident at Nashua Crossings and loved those that cared for her. She was not one to sugar coat anything so when she spoke about their kindness and how much she loved them, she meant it. The last year of her life was extremely challenging – recovering from her accident – and learning to walk again while grieving the loss of her sister Eleanor. But she prevailed with tenacity until the last month of her life.

She's survived by sister in law Thelma Marshall of Debary, FL, Nieces and nephews Douglas and Susan Beals, Debra and James Dooley, Wayne and Julie Beals, Cynthia and Henry Morelli III, Kenneth and Mariangela Marshall, Robert Marshall, Richard Marshall Trudy Marshall, Arthur and Cheryl Marshall, Susan and Chuck Anderson, Carl Marshall, Priscilla and Richard Watson, Alan Marshall, James and Linda Jo Marshall Jr, Linda and Donald Decoteau, David and Moira Marshall, Andrea and Mark Schmookler and Nancy Atkinson, Richard and Carrie St Jean, Carol St Jean, Pamela St Jean and Edward and Janet St Jean. Carol also had a special friend in Becky Hawxwell.
