Obituary for Carol Ann Viens (Salter)

Carol Ann (Salter) Viens, 78, departed this world on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Southern NH Medical Center in Nashua. She left behind a legacy of love, family, and cherished memories.

Carol was born on April 15, 1945 in Southbridge, Massachusetts to Hazel Effie Gagnon (Rasmussen) and Harry Joseph Salter.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she was the beloved wife of the late Maurice N. Viens. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter.

For more than 50 years, Carol was a familiar face in Hudson, where she worked at St Mary’s Bank, Sam’s Club and the State Liquor Store. Her warm smile and friendly demeanor earned her many friends, and her commitment to her community was unwavering.

Carol loved a good party, and she was happiest when she was surrounded by family and friends. A fan of Lucille Ball and murder mysteries she never grew tired of watching Murder She Wrote and Perry Mason. She also made a mean seafood chowder and enjoyed cooking for her family. Her love for life was infectious, and her happiness radiated in the company of family and friends. She found joy in caring for her home, tending to her lawn and flowers; whether it was a sunny day at the beach, or the countless memories made at the family camp in Belmont, NH, Carol enjoyed these moments surrounded by those she loved.

In addition to her parents, Joseph and Hazel, and her husband, Maurice, Carol was predeceased by her sisters, Linda Salter and Sandra Salter. Their spirits lived on in her heart.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Joseph Cannata of Hudson; her grandchildren, Nicholas Cannata and his wife Melissa of Londonderry, Colby Cannata of Nashua, and Brittani Cannata of Hudson; her great-grandchildren, Levi Joseph Cannata of Londonderry and Marci June Ferdinand of Hudson; her nephew, Lee and her nieces, Tammie and Kim.

Let us remember Carol Viens for the love she shared, the joy she brought, and the enduring impact she had on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in Eternal peace.

SERVICES: A Private Graveside Service will be held at a later date in April of 2024.
