Obituary for Catherine Marie Shea
On October 19, 2020, the world lost a wonderful person, Catherine Marie Shea of Merrimack, at age 84. She passed away peacefully after a long and brave battle with breast cancer. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Daughter of the late Edmund and Catherine Enos, she was born in Winthrop, Massachusetts on December 8, 1935, and grew up in East Boston. After marrying Frederick, the love of her life, in 1957, they moved many times and settled in Nashua, New Hampshire, where she raised her family and worked for the Nashua School District for more than 20 years.
She leaves her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Frederick; her three children, Kathleen, Edmund, and Frederick; their spouses Alan, Jane, and Jill; her six grandchildren, Allison, Brandon, Michael, Conner, Ryan, and Evelyn; and two great-grandchildren, Landon and Riley. She will be missed by two sisters Grace and Mary, and was predeceased by her brother Edmund.
Her passion was her family, extended family, and many friends. She was happiest in the midst of a large gatherings for holidays and celebrations. Catherine was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church and attended mass every day. Her strong faith helped her through the years. She was also an ardent Red Sox and Patriots fan.
Everywhere Catherine went and everything she did, she always made lifelong friends, including her girlfriends in her childhood neighborhood, high school classmates, longtime bridge and cards friends, Friday-night get-together group, and Heron Cove neighborhood. Catherine always had a smile on her face and a contagious laugh. She was loved by her family and friends, and everyone loved her. She lit up every room she entered. She will be greatly missed.
SERVICES: A visitation will take place on Friday, October 23, 2020, from 4 to 6 pm at the Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock St., Nashua NH., 03060. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at 11 am., at St John Neumann Church, 708 Milford Rd, Merrimack, NH 03054. A procession will be held directly after the mass to Edgewood Cemetery, 107 Amherst St, Nashua, NH 03064, for a committal service.
