Obituary for Dieter Paul Schmid
Dieter Paul Schmid, age 78, died Thursday, September 22, 2022, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. Dieter was born April 23, 1944, in München, Germany, the son of Paul and Kathrina Schmid. He was the husband of Heidi (Marcouillier) Schmid. They married August 31, 2012, in Nashua, NH and enjoyed 10 years of marriage together.
Dieter was the Owner of Nashua Foreign Auto for many years until he sold the business in 2012. Dieter and Heidi spent 5 months out of the year at their Sarasota residence while he was an active member of the Sarasota Knights of Columbus. Through the Organization, he volunteered for the Oreal’s Training Camp and earned the name “Hot Dog King.” When returning home to New Hampshire, Dieter enjoyed playing golf with his wife at the Nabnasset Country Club in Westford, MA, where they were both members. Dieter loved giving back to the community through various charitable works.
Dieter is predeceased by his sons Raymond and Kenneth Schmid.
Besides his wife Heidi, he is survived by his son Michael Schmid, stepson Jerry Overby and his family, grandson Timothy (Schmid) Vigliotte, and sister Ingrid Jordan.
SERVICES: A visitation will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, 216 E. Dunstable Road, Nashua, NH, on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, from 10-11 am. A Funeral Mass will follow at Immaculate Conception Church at 11 am. A procession and committal will take place after the Mass at Edgewood Cemetery, 107 Amherst St, Nashua, NH. Friends and family are invited to attend.
