Obituary for Donald Marcel Rivard

Donald “Don” Marcel Rivard,76, died peacefully on February 8, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on June 6, 1947 in Manchester, NH, the son of the late Marceline (Talbot) Rivard and the late Armand Rivard.

Don was the loving husband of JoAnne Beaulieu Rivard for 45 years. They were married on August 18, 1978, in Nashua, NH. They were longtime residents of Brookline, NH.

Don was a graduate of Plymouth State College and the University of New Hampshire, with a master’s degree in Elementary Education. He taught for several years, before moving onto other positions related to sales and finance. He spent most of his career working with mortgages.

Don enjoyed playing cards, sports, and traveling, among many other hobbies. Recently, he was an avid Bridge player and consistently beat many of his family members at Cribbage. As a father of three girls, he spent much time coaching, including starting a girls’ varsity soccer team at Hollis/Brookline High School. In his retirement, he took many trips with his wife and extended family to various National Parks and other exotic locations.

Along with his parents, Don was also predeceased by a brother, Richard Rivard.

Don is survived by his wife, Jody, and their three daughters; Elizabeth Rivard of Watertown, MA, Katelyn Ladner, her husband Aaron, and their sons Sam and Ryan, of Brookline, NH, and Nicole Anderson, her husband Bill, and their children Drew and Natalie, of Nashua, NH. He is also survived by his brother Jerry Rivard and his partner Kathy Albert. Don also leaves behind many brother- and sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 10 am, Monday, February 19, 2024, at Saint Joseph the Worker Parish, 777 W Hollis St, Nashua, NH 03062, with Bishop Christian officiating. A reception will follow at Alpine Grove,19 S Depot Rd, Hollis, NH 03049. Family and friends are invited to attend.
