Obituary for Doris Cobb (Martin)

Doris Robena (Martin) Cobb, 96, returned to the arms of her Savior Sunday, January 14, 2024, at her daughter’s home in Nashua, NH. She was born on December 22, 1927, in Lewiston, Maine, daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Wilson) Martin.

She was the loving wife of Edwin Cameron Cobb, married on May 5, 1951, in Weymouth, MA. Doris graduated from Weymouth High School from their secretarial program. She and her husband moved frequently due to his job, which allowed them to reside in many different places such as Charlotte, NC, Pataskala, OH, Carol Stream, Illinois, Venezuela, and returning to Nashua for the third time.

Doris enjoyed time singing and performing with the Actor Singers until the mid 1960’s. She was a soprano soloist, performing at many venues throughout her life. She was also a Children’s Choir Director at Park Road Moravian Church in Charlotte, NC. While living near Chicago, Doris pursued and completed her CNA training in her early 50’s. She also had a passion for knitting, crocheting, and sewing. Her patio was a place of joy watching the chipmunks and squirrel’s scurry. When she lost her sight, she listened to the many birds sing and “peep” back to them.

Survivors include her children: Linda Cobb, Ellen Levesque and her husband Dennis, and John and his wife Tina, all from Nashua; 5 grandchildren: Joshua Cobb, Eric Cobb, Thomas Cobb, Heidi Pompey and her husband Kyle, and Tiffany Goss and her husband Matthew. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren who became the loves of her life.

She had a lifelong concern that everyone was okay and especially children that she would see in the news.
If preferred, you may donate to St. Jude’s Hospital in lieu of flowers.
