Obituary for Douglas Mark Bent Sr.
Douglas Bent, Sr, 72 died suddenly April 4th, 2021 at his home. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 46 years Linda Lee Wheeler Bent. He was also predeceased by his father Leonard Bent Sr, and his 2 brothers Gary and Ronald Bent.
He is survived by his 3 children Douglas Bent Jr, Karen Esquivel, and Melissa Esquivel all of Nashua NH. His mother Clara Bent Connolly of Newport VT. His 6 beloved grandchildren Kaylie, Larissa, Carlos, Noah, Alexander, and Ethan as well as 5 great grandchildren. His 4 sisters Pamela Roy, Debra Bent, Sharon Thibault and Vickie Young all of VT. and his 4 brothers Leonard Bent Jr, Norman Bent, and Victor Bent all of VT, as well as Randy Bent of FL.
He was an avid Bingo player, junk hauler, and self-proclaimed ladies man. He loved race cars and racing at Hudson Speedway. He was never one to turn down a free meal and loved a good cook out. He scratched more scratch tickets then anyone should and is still waiting on that Publisher's Clearing House Check. He thought he could fix anything with duct tape and some WD-40. He proved that any vehicle could become a truck if you had a sawzall and were brave enough. He made wreaths and roping alongside his wife for many many years. He could make a mean spaghetti and adored the Nashua Adult Day Program he attended regularly. Doug loved buying and selling junk cars, going fishing, playing cards, and shooting a game of pool with his grandsons.
He had an infectious laugh and will be truly missed by all who loved him.
SERVICES: A graveside service will be held at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Brookline NH at a later date. In lieu of flowers please play a game of bingo, buy a scratch ticket or watch a race at Hudson Speedway in his honor.
