Edward L. Vignone, 99, of Nashua, NH, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2020 at Langdon Place in Nashua, NH. He was the beloved husband of the late Grace S. Vignone, to whom he was married for over 68 years. Ed was born in Hartford, CT on April 7, 1921, the son of the late Nicholas L. and Grace (Hewitt) Vignone. A graduate of John Fitch High School in Windsor, he served in the US Army as a rifle instructor stationed in Camp Hulen, TX during World War II.
Following the war, he graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, and enjoyed a long career in sales and management with Marchant Calculators and SCM Corporation in Hartford and Boston, MA. Later, he founded the first American branch for Sharp Electronics Corporation in Boston. He was a long-standing member of the Rotary Club, both in Hartford and Boston. For many years, Ed and his wife, Grace, resided in West Hartford, where they were active members of Wampanoag Country Club. After a move to Wellesley, MA, Ed was a regular golfer at Wellesley College's Nehoiden Golf Club. Following his retirement, Ed and Grace were fortunate to have many happy years together and enjoy several special friendships at their home at Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, NH. Throughout his life, Ed was known as an accomplished classical pianist, having studied from age six at the Hartford Conservatory with renowned musician and co-founder of the Hartt School of Music, Moshe Paranov. At age sixteen, Ed formed his own six-piece band, and performed at venues throughout the Hartford area, including the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts. He was also known as a skilled golfer, an avid reader and, in later years, a computer enthusiast. Above all, Ed will be remembered as a devoted husband and dedicated caregiver to Grace. Ed leaves behind two daughters, Jeanne (Vignone) Wentzell and her husband Steven, of Carlisle, MA, and Nancy (Vignone) Ackermann and her husband John, of Bluffton, SC; a granddaughter, Cynthia (Wentzell) Burke and her husband David, of Newmarket, NH; a grandson, Christian Ackermann and his wife Airika, of Glastonbury, CT; and three great-grandchildren, Quill and Allison Burke of Newmarket, NH and Joseph Ackermann of Glastonbury, CT. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and their families in CA, AZ, and MN. He was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Vignone.

SERVICES: The family will hold a private graveside service in the Fairview Cemetery in West Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd, 214 Main Street, Nashua, NH 03060 or cgsnashua.org.
