Obituary for Elaine M. Roy (Charest)

Elaine M. (Charest) Roy, age 78, of Nashua, NH, passed away at home on Sept. 27, 2022, after a period of declining health surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Raymond Roy who passed in 1994.

She was born in Lowell, MA on Sept. 11, 1944, daughter of the late Joseph & Claire (Durocher) Charest. She attended St Joseph girls high school in Lowell, MA and then entered the convent for 5 years before realizing her true calling of being a wife and mother.
She has been employed in several services industries throughout her life from feeding children at school to being a caretaker for hospice patients. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a home health aide working for Home Health & Hospice for many years, a career she truly loved.

Elaine enjoyed spending time with her family. In her younger days she enjoyed camping and bowling. She was well known for her impeccable sewing abilities. She enjoyed her time spent in the Nashua Adult Day program she attended over the past year. She was a member of the Associates of the Sisters of Charity of Ottawa. She was an avid chip and chocolate enthusiast.
A devout Catholic, Elaine was a communicant St. Joseph the Worker Church in Nashua.

She is survived by her three daughters, Christine Roy, Danielle Roy and her spouse, Francisco Breton, Michelle Lorraine and her husband Lloyd H, all of Nashua; 11 grandchildren, Zachary Boyer, Jeffrey Reza, Nevan Roy, Sophie Breton, Cylus Breton, Jamille Okoye, Lloyd V Lorraine, NaeNae Lorraine, Ladeena Lorraine, Risi Lorraine and Lorena Lorraine; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Charest and his wife Christine Harris-Charest; two sisters, Rita Hughes, Lorraine Duffey and her husband, John; also several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

SERVICES: Relatives & friends are invited to her Visitation at the DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, One Lock St., Nashua, NH 03064 on Sunday Oct. 2, 2022 from 2:00 until 5:00 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday Oct. 3, at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 777 W Hollis St., Nashua, NH. Interment to follow at St. Louis de Gonzague Cemetery, Nashua.
