Obituary for Eugenia T. Reilly (McCarthy)
Eugenia (McCarthy) Reilly, 88, of Nashua, NH passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Cambridge, MA November 13, 1933, daughter of the late Eugene McCarthy and Josephine (Fisher) McCarthy. She was the loving wife of George Reilly for over 60 years. They were married in Roslindale, MA on May 13, 1961. Eugenia, who went by “Jean”, was a devoted mother of two children, Kevin, and Maryann.
Jean was born and raised in Somerville, MA, the youngest of five girls in her household. Her fondest childhood memories were going to the movies, bike riding, and spending time with her friends. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Catholic High School, soon thereafter, worked as a secretary for many years at Bell Atlantic Telephone.
Jean was a devout Catholic and a member of Immaculate Conception Parish. Her Irish catholic beliefs and spiritual dedication penetrated family and those around her. In her past free time, she enjoyed bowling, sewing, dancing, and watching her old movies. Jean loved to look her very best whether it was a special occasion or just having a guest at the house. She always dressed in her full set of jewelry with the perfect shade of lipstick to complete the look. Jean was a beautiful woman inside and out. She always had a smile on her face and was one of the sweetest, kindest souls of anyone you’ve ever met.
Jean is predeceased by her sisters: Claire, Rosalie, Ruth, and Olive, her son Kevin, and her granddaughter Jenna.
Survivors include her spouse George, daughter Maryann and her husband George. She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Nicole, and Derek.
SERVICES: A memorial mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Parish, 216 E. Dunstable Rd., Nashua, NH 03062 on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 11 am.
