Obituary for Francis L. Brown

Francis (Brownie) L Brown, 94, died Sunday, September 4, 2022, at St Joseph’s Hospital in Nashua, NH. He was born November 11, 1927, in Arlington, MA, the son of George and Sarah (Mead) Brown.

Frank was educated through St Mary High School in Charlestown, MA and graduated from Norwich Academy, a private senior military college in Vermont. He went on to serve his country honorably by joining the Army as a Private First Class ranked soldier from June 4, 1945, to March 25, 1947. He served during World War II and earned a Marksmanship Badge for the M-1 Carbine rifle.

Frank enjoyed his work as a testman for Verizon, troubleshooting simple and complex communication systems for quality assurance. He was a member of the Merrimack Elks Lodge and VFW. He was also a parishioner of St. Christopher’s Parish and valued his faith. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf, watching all Boston Sports, and spending time with his family.

Frank is predeceased by his first wife, Catherine (Harlow) Brown, and second wife, R. June (Breen) Brown.
He is survived by his children Judy and her husband Michael Trant of Billerica, MA, Susan and her husband Ronald Iamelli of Nashua, NH, Frank Jr and his wife Lynne Brown of Nashua, NH and Cindy and her husband Henry Voorhis of Nashua, NH; grandchildren Matthew Iamelli, Michael Brown, Jessica Rutherford, Marty Voorhis, and Sarah Voorhis; great-grandchildren Hailey Rutherford, Camden Brown, and Mila Brown; and several nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: Visiting hours will be held from 3 to 7 pm on Friday, September 16, 2022, at the Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock St, Nashua, NH. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, September 17, 2022, at St. Christopher’s Parish, 62 Manchester St, Nashua, NH at 11 am. A procession and burial will take place immediately after at St Patrick’s Cemetery, 102 Derry Rd, Hudson, NH. Military Honors to be accorded.
