Obituary for G. Raymond Palmer

G. Raymond Palmer, age 88, passed away peacefully after a decades long existence with Parkinson’s at the All American Assisted Living Facility in Londonderry, NH. He was born on September 4, 1930 in Nashua, NH, the son of the late Ralph D. and Mabel (Bickford) Palmer.

Ray proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951-1953 during the Korean War. He later worked as a lab technician for the Nashua Corporation for 50 years. He was a long time member and past treasurer of the Pilgrim Congregational Church, UCC in Nashua. He was very active in the Hudson Community as a Little League and Rec League Basketball Coach.

Ray was also a member of the Pilgrim Chapter OES, Grand Lodge UCC, Rising Sun Masonic Lodge for 50 years & Ancient York Lodge, Bektash Shrine Club and the NH Consistory (32 degrees).

Ray was predeceased by his beloved wife E. Marie (Hull) Palmer, who passed away in 2015.

Ray is survived by his children and their spouses, Joyce Palmer and her husband George DeWolf of Wentworth, NH and John Palmer of Plattsburgh, NY; grandchildren, Alex and Melody Palmer and siblings Dorothy E. Wilson of Medford, MA and Dana L. Palmer of Glens Falls, NY. Ray also leaves behind many loving extended family members and dear friends.

SERVICES: A Funeral Service will be held Saturday September 14, 2019 at 10:00 am at Pilgrim Congregation Church, UCC 4 Watson Dr., Nashua, NH 03064. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery, Nashua, NH. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at the Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock St., Nashua, NH 03064. Per family request, no flowers, in lieu of flowers those wishing to make a memorial donation in Ray’s loving memory are encouraged to do so to either to the Bektash Shriners, 189 Pembroke Rd., Concord, NH 03301 or to the Pilgrim Congregational Church, UCC, 4 Watson St., Nashua, NH 03064.
