Obituary for George William Pappas
George William Pappas, 87, died on Thursday, May 20, 2021, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born on February 16, 1934 in Boston, MA, son of the late William John Pappas and Anastasia (Klaliris) Mavrikis.
George earned his Batchelor’s Degree in engineering from Northeastern University and worked as a software engineer for the former Sanders Associates up until his retirement.
In his free time, he enjoyed flying airplanes, traveling, and boating.
Along with his parents, William and Anastasia, he was predeceased by his stepfather, Mike Mavrikis, sister Angelica W. (Pappas) Arastos, and brother, Peter Mavrikis.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 38 years, Jo Anne; son and daughter-in-law, Bill Frederick and wife Toni of Methuen, MA; daughter and son-in-law, Tracy Frederick and husband Seth Strauser of Unionville, CT; five grandchildren, Jonathan and Jasmine Frederick of Methuen, MA, and Mikelah, Kolby and Mikael Strauser of Unionville, CT; as well as his brother, John Pappas of Ft. Myers, FL.
SERVICES: A memorial service will be held at Davis Funeral Home, One Lock Street in Nashua on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 4:30pm. A period of visitation will immediately follow the service until 6pm on Thursday. Due to COVID restrictions all guests entering the funeral home will be required to wear face masks and follow social distancing.
