Obituary

Obituary for Gregory Joseph Moyer

Gregory Joseph Moyer, 75, died Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua. He was born on February 19, 1945 in Altoona, PA, son of the late Joseph and Florence (Ginnick) Moyer.

He was the beloved husband of Rita L. (Castignoli) Moyer. They were married in Somerville, MA on April 15, 1967.

Greg was a graduate of Altoona High School and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree from Lowell Tech. He was a US Army Veteran who served our Country proudly in Vietnam. Over the years he had been employed by Kolsman and Sanders, finally retiring from his position as Financial Analyst from Raytheon.

Greg always enjoyed his Dunkin Donuts coffee, his beloved dogs and classic cars. Sunday morning car shows were his “church”. He also volunteered at Nashua Humane Society walking dogs and NAMI and NH Hospital transitioning people back to the community. Above all, he was always happiest spending time with family, friends and his dogs.

Along with his loving wife of more than 53 years, Rita, he is survived by his daughter, Leah Newton and her husband Kevin; son, Justin Moyer and his wife Katie; two grandchildren, Logan and Madelyn Newton; as well as three nephews, Rick Keller and wife Patricia, Mark Keller and wife Patricia, and Brian Keller and wife Brenda.

May there be chocolate frappes and lots of dogs in heaven for such a kind man.

SERVICES: A private graveside service will be held at NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, with a public memorial service to be held at a later date. Those who wish to make a memorial contribution in Greg’s name are asked to consider a donation to the Nashua Humane Society, JDRF, or Nashua NAMI.
