Obituary for Harry Charles Richards
Harry Charles Richards, 87, of Nashua died peacefully Thursday September 19, 2019 at Sothern NH Medical Center.
Harry was born July 4, 1932, in Dover, NJ, son of the late Harry and Mazel (Shauger) Richards. He was also predeceased by his son Harry “Chucky” Richards. He was the loving husband of Susan (Douglas) Richards, of Nashua and with whom he married on June 30, 1984. Besides his loving wife of thirty-five years, survivors include, two daughters, Kara and Fiancé Tommy Buzzell and Kimberly and her companion Troy Patten; one brother Allen Richards and his wife Ann; two grandchildren, Giovanni and Haylee Bernasconi; five step grandchildren and a granddaughter which is due to arrive on October 12. He also had many nieces and nephews.
Harry graduated from Morristown High School and was the proud graduate of the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He was the former President of Foster Grant Sunglass Company and later went on to form his own companies, Shades of the World and Hampshire Optical. Harry loved traveling the world, and did so many times over throughout his life. He enjoyed sharing his stories about his travels and life experiences with everyone. He was meticulous about keeping his yard and pool clean. He was always the life of the party and loved entertaining. In his spare time, he liked doing crossword puzzles, watching football and discovering new restaurants. He was a very welcoming, passionate person who loved his family and his dog Rex dearly.
SERVICES: Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday September 25, 2019 from 1:00-2:30pm. A Celebration of life will be held at 2:30 pm (immediately following visitation) in the chapel of The DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, One Lock St., Nashua, NH 03064. 01904. Burial to follow at Edgewood Cemetery.
