Obituary for Irene May Dame

Irene M.Dame, 94, of Hudson, NH passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 after a battle with dementia. Ms. Dame was born in Brookline, New Hampshire on November 24, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Thomas B and Lillian (Warden)Barbour. She lived in Hudson most of her adult life.

Irene enjoyed working with her hands. She spent some time on the production line at Teledyne Technologies. When she wasn’t working, she would create through crocheting and knitting things for her family, whom she loved very much. She loved listening to music. She was always singing or humming a song to brighten the day. She enjoyed watching movies with Rena, her daughter, and going for walks. She especially loved being outdoors enjoying the sunshine.

She is survived by her daughter - Rena, her son-John, brother-Kenneth Barbour and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband-Robert and her brothers/sisters/spouses; Harold and Mitze Barbour, George and Germaine Barbour, Anna and Leon Plourde, Arlene and Bill Perry, Raymond and Mabel Barbour, Thomas and Rena Barbour, Evelyn and Walter Ruonala, and Phyllis Barbour (wife of Kenneth).
A special “thank you” to Michelle Collette and Irene’s Caregiver’s for their care of Irene during these past years. Your assistance was greatly appreciated.

Services: There are no calling hours. A private graveside service will take place at the Evergreen Cemetery at 391 Main St., Nashua, New Hampshire at the convenience of the family. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the local Humane Society or Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901, or donate online at dementiasociety.org.
