Obituary for James Noonan Copley Sr.

James N. Copley, 91, of Nashua and formerly Lowell, died on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was born in Lowell, MA on July 5, 1930, to the late Thomas Joseph. Copley and Mary Morgan Copley. James was the loving husband of the late Barbara (Dow) Copley for over 60 years. They were married in Lowell, MA on June 26, 1954.

James attended Lowell Senior High School as well as Lowell Technical Institute. James was a member of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean war period. He served from 1950 – 1954 as a staff sergeant. James was employed at Nashua Corporation from 1959 – 1984 before working for Conway Quality till 1994. He was also a member of the Nashua Country Club where he enjoyed golfing. He also enjoyed walking, reading, and spending time with family. He was also awarded a patent for thermal paper.

Aside from his parents and loving wife, James is predeceased by his siblings: John Copley, Eileen McCarron, Thomas Copley, Mary Campbell, and Walter Patrick Copley.

Survivors include his son Jay of Nashua, NH; son Todd Copley and his wife Denise (Eaton) of Dover, NH; and daughter Amy Copley of Nashua, NH. He also leaves behind his granddaughter, Natalie Copley. He is also survived by his sibling: Claire Piekarski, William Copley, Robert Copley, and Anne Swiderski.

SERVICES: A funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, 216 E Dunstable Rd, Nashua, NH 03062, on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 10 am. Family and friends are invited to attend. For those of you who cannot make it, the funeral mass will be live streamed on the church website at www.iccnashuanh.org.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter https://nsks.org/.
