Joan Marie (Richea) Zenitz, age 86, of N. Chelmsford, MA, formerly of Albany, N.Y., passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019. She was born August 25, 1933 in Albany, NY where she resided most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Corrine (LaPointe) Richea and Norman Richea, and beloved mother to Seth Zenitz of Southampton, MA and Paula (Steve) Zenitz Baron of Nashua, NH. She is predeceased by her sister Faith Miller and brother-in-law Charles Miller, and leaves behind granddaughters Alyssa Zenitz Maybury and Susannah Baron, and great-granddaughter Acadia Maybury, as well as nieces Anita Dixon, Cathy Caruso, and Faith Post.
Joan obtained her RN and BSN in Nursing, and pursued a lifelong career in an occupation she loved. She was a compassionate hospital, school, and workplace nurse, as well as using her nursing background in positions with the NYS Dept. of Social Services. In addition to holding leadership roles in her religious community, she enjoyed music, gardening, reading, nature and the outdoors, animals, children, and family, and was a busy and active person her entire life. A very beloved mother to her two children, a devoted and loving daughter to her mother, as well as a loving wife, she touched neighbors, co-workers and other people with her empathy, good heart, graciousness, generosity, and loveliness, and will be greatly missed by all.
SERVICES: Burial and graveside service to be held on Friday, September 27 at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Holy Sepulchre Rd., East Greenbush, NY. A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, October 3 at 2:00 pm at The Atrium at Drum Hill, 2 Technology Drive in North Chelmsford, MA.
