Obituary for Linda Mae Annis

Linda Mae Annis, 73, passed away on April 28th after a long and courageous battle with Cancer. Never wanting to impose on others she often did not share with her friends her private health struggles until it became apparent. Pre-deceased by her loving parents, Harold `Bud' & Arlene (Peacock) Annis. Linda was an only child. She leaves behind her cousins Cynthia and Stephen Kosacz. She felt blessed to have two lifelong friends, Linda Tomasian and Steve Ducharme. Both Linda and Steve were her guideposts in life, and they shared many memories that included owning a horse together and participating in many equestrian competitions.

As a caregiver, Linda had the most giving spirit to her roommate, Steven DerManoogian. Steven loved living with Linda, and they enjoyed watching sports and attending community events. The DerManoogian family will forever be grateful.

Linda gave generously to others and although she often spoke of being an only child, through the years she created family-like friendships with many co-workers, neighbors, and an exceptional group of friends that they named the “Birthday Club.” She loved the people in this group and always looked forward to their gatherings.

Linda readily and liberally gave to multiple charitable organizations that she supported throughout her life. Linda loved to travel, and she ventured to many European countries, with Norway being her favorite. She enjoyed the theater and along with her parents, she herself performed productions as a young woman. One of her unsung accomplishments was her becoming the first woman Senior Ward in her parish, the Church of the Good Sheperd in Nashua. This position she held alongside her father.

Linda worked at the Woolco Department Store for over 18 years before working in the business Office at Gateways community Services. She often reflected on both positions as having worked with “wonderful” people that had become endearing friends. It is all these friends and the countless people she knew in the community that will always remember her smile, her inquiries about their families, her phone calls to “check in” and her ardent desire to be there for others.
