Obituary for Lois Edna Benson (Littlefield)
Mrs. Lois Edna (nee Littlefield) Benson, age 96, of Hudson, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2021 in her own residence surrounded by the love of her family.
She was born August 11, 1924, in Boston, MA, daughter of the late Roy Everett and Annie (nee MacDonald) Littlefield.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, George Taft Benson, Jr; three brothers and four sisters-in-law, Roy Everett Littlefield, Jr (Mary), Wilson Littlefield, Bruce Littlefield, and Charlotte (nee Benson) Sprague; two brothers in law, Stuart Benson (Bea) and John Benson (Lucille); and one son in law, Dennis Flath of Starke, FL.
Lois was a dedicated, caring, and loving homemaker. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, reading and writing letters, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!, sitting outside and feeding the birds, and most of all, spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family and dear friends.
Lois will be remembered for her laughter and her ability to listen and accept people for who they were. She loved seeing her family and friends enjoy life, and looking at photographs and recounting good memories always made her smile. She cherished holidays and made them special for those around her. She was also a good neighbor and loyal friend. Nothing made her happier than being with her family and friends visiting in her home.
Lois is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, George Taft Benson, III (Cecile) of Londonderry and James Benson of Hudson; two daughters, Carol Storm of Starke, FL and Susan Aucoin of Hudson; three grandchildren, Heather Storm and Gabriel Storm both of FL and Amity Small of Londonderry; several great grandchildren she adored, who were blessed to know their great-Grammy; and several nieces and nephews.
