Obituary for Lorinda Irene Stickney

Lorinda Irene Stickney, 78, formally of Milford, NH, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022, surrounded by her family and unconditional love in North Adams, MA. She was born February 19, 1944, in Nashua, NH, to parents Herman and Charlene (Thompson) Stickney.

Lorinda went to Hollis High School and graduated in 1958. She was a Christian who found strength in her faith. She was a regular parishioner of the First Congregational Church in Milford, NH.
Lorinda was the proud owner of Lorinda’s Thrift Shop in Milford, NH. She owned and ran the shop for from 1987 to 1999. She loved connecting with the community and helping those in need. Later in life, she was a caretaker for Milford Manor where she helped residents live with dignity. When she wasn’t helping others, she loved spending time with her family. Even in her last days, she found the strength to meet the newest arrival, her great-great nephew, Thomas Ryan Chenial.

Lorinda is survived by her brother Herman Stickney Jr. of Hollis, NH and his two sons Spencer Stickney and Shannon Stickney, sister Shirley Vallieres of North Adams, MA, nieces Kristina Pettengill, Stacy Pettengill-Fuller, and Tammy Jacques, as well as nine great-nieces and nephews, and eight great-great nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved baby kitty, Suzie Q.

SERVICES: A Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 3, 2022, at 4 pm at the First Congregational Church, 10 Union St, Milford, NH 03055. Interment will follow the next morning, Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 10 am at East Cemetery, 24 Wheeler Rd, Hollis NH, 03049. Friends and family are invited to attend. The Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock St, Nashua, NH 03064, has been placed in charge of arrangements.
