Marcella (Douphinett) Dufour, 99, of Nashua, passed away February 14, 2021 at Langdon Place of Nashua.

She was born on April 22, 1921 in Franklin, NH, a daughter of Francis and Mary (Hebert) Douphinett.
She was a longtime resident of Nashua, having moved here with her husband John from Manchester in 1948.

Marcella figured prominently in my childhood. In fact, for some reason I’ve been thinking of her recently, quite often. I just assumed she was gone, since it’s been many years. I wish I reached out a few years ago when we returned to New Hampshire and I could have see her again.

My parents were friends with John and Marcella and had Lexington MA and Brunswick ME in common. They were Laurie and Elizabeth Harris, now gone 30 and 13 years, respectively.

Marcella loved to sew and she asked my mother if she could make some things for me. Having four sons, she was glad to have a girl to model her creations. One item I absolutely loved and can still picture was a pink coat, almost a coral color. It was exquisite and I loved it a very long time. I’ll never forget Marcella’s kindness and inspiration surrounding the gift of this coat. I treasure this memory and the memory of knowing both Marcella and John. With sincere sympathy and love.
