Obituary for Margaret Mary Morrison (McCloud)

Margaret Mary Morrison, 96, of Nashua, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. She was born in Boston, MA on May 5, 1926, daughter of the late John and Margaret (Doherty) McCloud.

Margaret grew up in the greater Boston area and attended Dorchester High School. She married Vincent Morrison in 1945 and spent many years living in Weymouth and 10 years in Lexington raising her family before moving to Nashua. Margaret was a proud homeowner and resident of Nashua for over 45 years.

Margaret enjoyed sewing, knitting, ceramics, braiding rugs, and playing bingo. She had a passion for keeping her yard pristine and loved to spend time gardening. Margaret was also a lifelong Boston sports fan who reveled in the renaissance of Boston championships and the celebration of duck boat parades after decades of coming up short.

Margaret came from humble beginnings and was never one to put on airs. She survived many hardships and persevered, always with a positive attitude and looking forward. Her proudest accomplishment, along with her husband Vincent, was raising her four boys and insuring they got the educational and life opportunities they never had. Margaret had a good sense of humor and always enjoyed a good laugh.

Margaret is predeceased by her brothers, John McCloud and his wife Nancy, Edward McCloud and his wife Joan, as well as her sister, Anna Thayer and her husband Harold. She is also predeceased by her husband Vincent Morrison.

Survivors include her sons, James Morrison and his wife Marsha of Tallahassee, FL, Paul Morrison and his wife Doreen of Kennebunk, ME, Wayne Morrison and his wife Nancy of Mont Vernon, NH, and William Morrison and his wife Nancy of Salisbury, MD. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend their deep appreciation to the Nashua Crossings staff and extended team for their wonderful care and loving support for Margaret over these last three years.
