(Maria) Theresa Candeloro died peacefully on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Benchmark Senior Living at Nashua Crossings in Nashua, New Hampshire, one month shy of her 89th birthday.
She was born in Union City, New Jersey on October 14, 1930 as a most dutiful daughter to her loving parents Angelo and Rose Candeloro, and had one sibling, her younger brother Bob. A graduate of Emerson High School's Class of 1948, she was a popular student who earned the accolade "Most Talkative" and continued on to higher education at The Katharine Gibbs School. Theresa worked for an impressive 50 years as a Bookkeeper, first at Otis Elevator in NJ and then in New York City for various Real Estate companies including Brown Harris Stevens Residential Sales, LLC. She loved to walk the canyons of Manhattan, to and from work, around Midtown, to Broadway shows, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Lord & Taylor, The Empire State Building, and Woolworth's.
Theresa was a devout Catholic, an active parishioner, and benefactor of SS Joseph and Michael Church and St. Anthony of Padua Church in Union City, NJ. In retirement, she loved to chat on the phone with her collection of friends and family, take annual vacations to Cape Cod, MA and Rhode Island, and she volunteered as a Lunch Aide at St. Francis Academy in Union City, NJ where children gravitated to her warm and friendly disposition.
She is survived by her large extended family and was a loving and supportive Aunt to her nieces and nephews Robert Candeloro, his wife Susan, Stephen Candeloro, Jean Inzerillo, her husband Sam, and Carol Candeloro. And she was delighted to be a Great Aunt to four people she adored...Theresa Inzerillo, Brian Inzerillo, Julia Candeloro, and Christopher Inzerillo.
