Obituary

On March 18, 2020, after a brief illness, Mark Phillip Colquitt, 56, of Nashua, NH, entered the presence of Jesus where he is now whole and well. Mark was born on January 29, 1964 in Monmouth, IL. From his very first days Mark was animated by high energy, and an engaging personality that attracted people to him. Mark will be remembered for his tender heart for people, his outrageous sense of humor, dead-on impersonations, and his unlimited generosity. A talented musician, he loved listening to and making music through vocals, guitar, and keyboard for his own joy and for the enjoyment of others.
For much of his adult life, Mark lived in Las Vegas, Nevada where he met Susan Trams, his best friend and the love of his life. They shared a love for dogs, together raising and loving many dogs over the years. Music was a big part of their life, and among many bands and musicians, their favorite was Queen.
Mark spent his career in the automotive industry, working at numerous dealerships across the country in both sales and finance.
During the last months of his life, Mark found great hope and comfort in 2nd Corinthians 5:17 which promises that anyone who is in Christ is a new creation, old things are passed away, and the new has come as we are reconciled in Christ. Mark was determined to celebrate this new chapter in his life through time with his family and friends. He couldn’t wait to get home from the hospital and, “make dinner for my dad.” Mark and his family believed he had more time, but God had other plans for Mark, and He called him home.
Mark leaves behind his parents, Clifford D. and Frances (Main) Colquitt of Nashua, NH, his beloved Susan Trams of Las Vegas, Nevada, his brother David G. Colquitt of Nashua, NH, his sister and her husband, Victoria A. and Robert W. Kennedy of Atkinson, NH, three nieces, four nephews, as well as numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins, and dozens of friends. He also leaves his sweet little dog Joey, who seems lost without Mark.
Because of the current limitations on social gatherings, Mark’s immediate family will hold a private burial ceremony in Atkinson, NH. A memorial service honoring Mark’s life will be held at a date to be determined. Mark’s family will post the date and location on social media, and they hope that Mark’s many friends will join them in remembering Mark at that time.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mark’s name may be made to Teen Challenge New Hampshire, 147 Laurel St. Manchester, NH 03103, www.tcmassachusetts.org/donate/.
