Obituary for Melvin R. Domeny

Melvin R. “Dick” Domeny, 79, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 after a short stay at Hanover Hill Health Care Center in Manchester. He was born on April 11, 1942 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, son of the late Annie Domeny. Dick was raised by his late foster parents Reuben and Elma Weinman on their Pennsylvania farm.

He was the beloved husband of Linda (Mann) Domeny for 58 years.

Dick was educated in the Montoursville, PA area school district and earned his Bachelor's degree in Christian Education from Washington Bible College in Washington, DC. Dick was always a hard worker. Having grown up in a farming family, he went on to work as the Produce Manager at Purity Supreme Supermarkets for 28 years. He also worked for Hitchner Manufacturing as a forklift driver and later part-time for HRC Total Solutions until his retirement in 2018.

He loved God and his family very much. He served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Grace Baptist Church in Merrimack for many years. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed spending time with his family and playing board games, especially chess.

Along with his loving wife, Linda, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Doug Domeny and wife Becky; daughter, Laurie Lemay; three grandchildren, Brooke Lemay and fiancé Brandon Goudreau, Michael Domeny and wife Kelsey, and Matthew Domeny and fiancé Shanon Douglass; great-granddaughter, Addy Domeny; sister, Christine Smith; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Beverly Hall; and nieces and a nephew.

SERVICES: Services will be held privately. Dick will be interred at Last Rest Cemetery in Merrimack.
