Obituary for Nancy Waithera Givens

Nancy Waithera Givens, went home to be with Lord, May 3rd, 2019 at home in Nashua, NH, after a long fight with Colon Cancer. She was born on December 9, 1963 in Nairobi, Kenya. She was daughter of Lillian Wanjiru Mwangi and Jackson Mwangi. She was the wife of the late Trent Givens. They married on April 28, 1991 in Nashua, NH. Nancy Givens was a woman after God’s own heart, and she was a devout Christian. When Nancy was a teenager, she was baptized at Kairi CPK Church in Muranga, Kenya. Nancy went through all CPK Church protocols to become a full member of CPK Church (an Anglican Church). When Nancy came to the United States, she found herself a church in Lowell, Massachusetts named St. Stephen Church, where she’s been a member ever since. Nancy’s Givens is also a proud member of the Mother’s Union at St. Stephen Church. Nancy’s love for education took her far. In 1969 Nancy started her primary school education at Kalimoni Primary school Junja, Kenya. Later Nancy’s parents moved to Kahawa Sukari where she joined Kamiti primary school. Nancy did very well on her CPE testing (Kenyan’s National Testing) that it afforded her the chance to graduate from Kamiti High School. Nancy was admitted into the prestigious Queensway Secretarial College. But God had different plans for her, in 1989, during her time in college she was afford the opportunity to come the United States of America. This opportunity allowed her to become a full citizen of the United States and helped her continue her education. After working for many different companies, she went back to nursing school at NHTI (New Hampshire Technical Institute), where she graduated with honors and earned her degree to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Nancy loved being a nurse and caring for others at Courville of Nashua, where she worked for over 20 years. Nancy lived a full life. When she wasn’t in church praising the Lord, Nancy enjoyed traveling, cooking, being stylish, drinking tea, reading, walking, scraping booking, gardening, volunteering, singing praise and worship songs, knitting, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. Nancy love for people also lead her to become apart of different religious and social groups like the Mother’s Union, Dynanmic Sisters, Ladies of Faith, Acts of Kindness, Victorious Women, Murwo Group, and she was one the co-founders of the Muranga Group, which is a group that helps bring together people from Muranga district in Kenya, who are now in the USA. Nancy survived by Wanjiru (Shiro) Lillan Givens, Jackson Mwangi, her grandson Jaden Mwangi, David Wahome, Njeri Wahome, John Githingi, her many nieces and nephews, and husband family the Givens family. Nancy Givens Legacy will live on forever. One way is with a monument name Germination of Spirit dedicated to her by people in the city of Nashua, and will be placed somewhere in Nashua, NH soon.
May 19th- The Memorial for Nancy Givens will be held at St Stephen Church located at 297 W 6th St, Lowell, MA from 4-6pm.
May 20th- The Wake for Nancy Givens will be held at Davis Funeral located at 1 Lock St Nashua, NH from 6-8pm
May 21st- The Funeral for Nancy Givens will be at St. Joseph The Worker Church at 777 W Hollis St Nashua, NH with her service starting at 10:00am then leading to her burial at Edgewood Cemetery located at 107 Amherst St, Nashua, NH. And the Repass/Mercy Meal will be held back at St. Jospeh The Worker Church hall after her burial.
