Obituary for Paul J. McCarthy
Paul J. McCarthy, age 61, of Nashua, NH, formerly of Lowell and Billerica, MA, passed away on December 16, 2022 after a period of declining health. For 33 years, he was the beloved companion of Janice A. Daye.
He was born in Lowell, MA on February 12, 1961, son of the late Paul McCarthy and Jeannette (Legere)(Pekos) McCarthy. He was a graduate of Greater Lowell Technical High School in the automotive program.
He worked as an auto mechanic for many years in the greater Lowell area at the former Hallissey Dealership and 1400 Motors in Lowell, and Iverson Ford in Billerica. He most recently worked for Reading Bus Co. as a fleet mechanic.
Paul loved anything to do with cars, classics and sports cars, having owned a Mustang Cobra at one time. He very well and always liked watching boxing and was in the Silver Mittens Boxing league; he knew Mickey Ward and his brother Dicky Ecklund.
Besides his longtime partner, Janice, he is survived by many friends including Paul Lima and Jeff Lynn. He was the half-brother of the late Stanley Pekos.
