Obituary for Pauline Theresa Hoitt (Descoteaux)

Pauline Theresa (Descoteaux) Hoitt, 74, a lifelong Nashua resident, passed away after a long illness at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH on Thursday, December 7, 2023.

Born in Nashua on January 27, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Elaine (Garant) Descoteaux. Pauline was also predeceased by her infant daughter, Jennifer Elaine Hoitt.

Educated in local schools, Pauline was a graduate of St. Louis de Gonzague High School Class of 1967. She worked for Hammar Hardware early in her life and was a school crossing guard for the Mt. Pleasant School for 17 years. She loved children and always had warm coats and hats for any child who needed them.

In her leisure time, Pauline enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at their camp in Maine. She was dedicated to the Lakota Indian Reservation, providing much needed in their community. She wanted every baby to have a blanket when leaving the hospital.

Pauline is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Jonathan Hoitt, her son Jason and his wife Judith Hoitt, her sister, Suzanne Webber and her husband Lowell, Nancy and Philip Dabilis, Anne and Ed Rzegocki, her sister-in-law, Susan Hoitt, and her brother-in-law, R. Michael Hoitt along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also left behind her special friend Cary McNulty, who worked tirelessly to keep her comfortable for the last nine months of her life.
