Obituary for Rene Philip Sorette

Rene P. Sorette, 80, died on March 2, 2021 at his home in Nashua. He was born on October 10, 1940 in Leominster, MA, son of the late Adrian and Rosina (Bergeron) Sorette.

He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Sorette. They were married in South Lake Tahoe, California in August of 1992.

Rene was a 1958 graduate of Leominster High School. He began his career at Doehla’s Greeting Card, Inc in Nashua where he worked until their closing. He then went to work as a press operator for RR Donnelly in Bedford, MA where he was employed until retirement.

Rene was an avid hunter and fisherman. He truly enjoyed feeding and watching the birds, squirrels, chipmunks, and rabbits in his yard. He also loved to travel whenever possible.

Along with his parents and wife, Mary, he was predeceased by his daughter, Denise Daigle; brother, Robert Sorette; and sister, Elaine Sorette Bisson.

He is survived by his step-daughter and her husband, Gladys and Wendell MacDonald; three daughters and sons-in-law, Marlene and Denis Leger, Darlene and Perry Comeau, and Michelle and Rick Arsenault; a son and daughter-in-law, Rene and Betty Sorette; son-in-law, Lenny Daigle; sister, Joanne Hume; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; as well as several nephews, nieces, and cousins.

SERVICES: A walk-through visitation will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 1-3pm at Davis Funeral Home, One Lock Street in Nashua. Due to COVID restrictions all guests entering the funeral home will be required to wear face masks and follow social distancing. A memorial service and interment at St. Louis Cemetery in Nashua will be held at a later date.
