Obituary for Richard D Plourde

Richard D. Plourde, 68, of Ashland, NH passed away. He fought a courageous battle against a major heart attack over the past year, only to lose that battle on June 19th, 2022.

Richard was born on October 17th, 1953, in Nashua, son of the late Leon and Anna (Barbour) Plourde.

He lived his early years in Nashua, but was a long-time resident of Ashland, New Hampshire.

He attended the Crochet Mountain School for Deaf in Greenfield, NH. He lived many years with his “adoptive” parents, the late Howard and Yvonne Good. They had close ties with the local Deaf community in the Ashland area.

He was employed by the Rochester Shoe Tree Company in Ashland for several years.

Richard had a unique talent of making things with his hands. He loved to make bird houses, canes, anything he could use his imagination with, to turn wood into his own creation.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved to take his boat to the lake and fish the day away.

He was also predeceased by his sister, Yvonne Patricia Beaulieu and his brother, Roger Plourde.

Survivors include his five brothers: William and Donna Plourde of Epsom, NH, Carl and Kathy Plourde of Temple, NH, Philip and Linda Plourde of Nashua, NH, Dennis and Joanne Plourde of Merrimack, NH, David Plourde of Maine, and Claude Plourde of Nashua.
