Obituary for Robert A. MacDonald
Robert A. MacDonald, age 72, of Merrimack, NH, passed away unexpectedly on June 25, 2022. For 44 years, he was the beloved husband of Kathleen M. (Keough) MacDonald.
Bob was born in Boston on April 15, 1950, son of the late Alton & Mary Ann (Walters) MacDonald.
Besides his wife, Kathy, he is survived by his most loving daughter, Kristen Marino and her husband, Phil of Nashua and son, Scott MacDonald and his wife Carol of Hollis. Bob was the proud Papa of three grandchildren, Kara Marino and Jack and Bridget MacDonald. Bob is also survived by his three sisters, Joanne Vitale and her husband Sonny of Hanson, MA, Nancy Belanger of Derry, NH. and Arlene MacDonald of S. Weymouth, MA. Bob was a beloved uncle to many nieces & nephews.
Bob was a graduate of Wentworth Institute. He worked for Verizon for many years, performing several jobs until his retirement from the Foxboro, MA garage in 2010. Bob and Kathy raised their family in East Walpole, MA; moving to Merrimack, NH after his retirement.
Bob enjoyed fishing, cross country skiing, short walks with long talks and was an avid swimmer. He was also a classic car enthusiast and was the proud owner of a ‘39 Chevy, ’65 Dodge Coronet Convertible and a former member (aka Top Down Bob) of the Mass Cruisers. His latest accomplishment was building a small wooden sailboat.
