Obituary for Valerie Jean Garner (Washington)

Valerie Jean (Washington) Garner, passed away peacefully at the age of 74, in her Nashua, New Hampshire residence on Thursday November 2nd, 2023. Valerie was born on June 10th, 1949, to Kenneth Nelson Washington and Bernice Williams of Massachusetts. She is survived by her sisters Kay Livingston and Jan Washington, her half-brother Kevin Washington, a daughter, grandsons Devon and Ezekiel, and her beloved granddaughter Megan Roth.

Valerie earned her Master’s Degree at American International College and worked as a Special Education teacher in the state of Massachusetts, before moving to New Hampshire and working as a Social Worker for the state, investigating and reporting elder abuse.

She loved to travel, solving puzzles, bake, watch local theater, take day trips to Maine and Vermont, read her Bible, and spend time with her sister and brother in-law Kay and Ray Livingston, and granddaughter and grandson in-law Megan and David Roth.

Megan, whom Valerie raised from the age of 5, would like to thank Valerie for the sacrifices she made to provide Megan with a wonderful and happy life. Megan and her husband David are thankful that Valerie was able to attend their wedding in August of this year, allowing Kay, Ray, Megan, and David to have one last family gathering with Valerie.

Per Valerie’s wishes, there will be no funeral or services.
