Obituary for Vivian Nash (Briggs)

Vivian (Briggs) Nash, 91 died on Monday August 28, 2023, at Hospice House in Merrimack NH. She was born May 29, 1932, in Nashua, Daughter of the late Burleigh Sr. and Delilah (Esque) Briggs.

She was a loving wife to Lazel Nash who proceeded her in death in 2019.

Vivian graduated from Nashua High School in 1952 and was a member of the choir and blues band along with various school clubs. She also was an avid supporter of The Red Cross and the Brain Injury Association of New Hampshire.
Vivian was a retired employee of BAE formally known as Lockheed (Martin) Sanders as a drafting coordinator. Her administration skills and attention to details were impeccable. She used these skills to maintain a well organized home.
Vivian was a member of Community Chapel church for over 65 years and was a wonderful Sunday school teacher as well. She enjoyed being a wife to Lazel and a mother to her daughter Shirley.

Vivian enjoyed hosting family barbecues, fish fry and holiday parties at her home with all the fun decorations and games.
Vivian loved fashion and looking her best at all times. If you knew her, you would know she loved hats and would wear them to church almost every Sunday with beautiful suits and dresses.

She was also a collector of specialty dolls and trinkets. She enjoyed various types of crafts as well as sewing in which she sewed many beautiful outfits for herself and the dolls.

Vivian was predeceased by her three sisters, Vera Briggs, Ellen Newman and Linda Briggs, her two brothers, Robert Briggs and Burleigh Briggs III and stepson William L Nash II.

She is survived by her daughter Shirley A. Nash of Nashua, her three brothers Albert Briggs of Taunton MA, Duane Briggs of Nashua, and Terry S Briggs of Cleveland OH, Her sister Verjean Nolan of Nashua, her two grandchildren Morgan Nash and William Nash III both of Laurel MD; as well as several nieces, nephew and cousins.

In honor of Vivian, we will be wearing hats to her celebration of life service. We encourage all who would like to do so to join us.

Services: Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, from 10:00 – 11:00 am at the Community Chapel Church, 5 St Laurent St, Nashua, NH 03064. A celebration of life service will follow at 11:30 am. Immediately following the service will be a luncheon in the fellowship hall of the church. Family and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be held privately for her family. The DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, One Lock St., Nashua has been placed in charge of arrangements.
