Obituary for Georgette Smith (Briand)

Georgette (Briand) Smith, 71, of Hudson died at her home on Tuesday, November 13, 2007, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Smith was born in Hudson, NH, a daughter of the late Thomas and Marie (Savoy) Briand. She was a lifelong resident of Hudson. She was the wife of James W. Smith, Sr., whom she married on July 17, 1953. Mrs. Smith worked for Red Ball Shoe Manufacturing and at one time for the Holiday Inn. She enjoyed bowling, aerobics and bingo. At one time, Mrs. Smith was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church. She attended schools in Nashua and Hudson. Mrs. Smith was pre-deceased by a son, James W. Smith, Jr. Besides her husband of 54 years, survivors include one son, Jon G. Smith and his wife Kellylynn of Derry, NH; a daughter Penny L Smith and her significant other Shawn Furbert of Hudson; two brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Linda Briand of Litchfield and Raymond and Diane Briand of Hudson; a sister and brother-in-law, Theresa and Charles Pratt of Merrimack; eight grandchildren, Jeremy Smith, Jon Smith and his wife Donna, Monica Smith, Angela Ventura, Starr Smith, Amber Smith, Jennifer Smith and Leah Smith; many great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bertha and Frank Leduc of Hudson, Edna Frost of Nashua, Shirley McArthur of Nashua, Joanne Martell of Nashua, Joyce Farrell of Gilman, VT and Betty and Ronald Bilodeau of East Concord, VT and Charles Smith of Nashua and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. :
Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, Centralized Memorial Processing Center, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
Interment will be private.
There are no visiting hours.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday afternoon, November 17, 2007 at One o’clock PM at the Davis Funeral Home, One Lock Street, Nashua. Friends are invited to attend.
