Obituary for Lister Harvey Shaw Jr.
Lister Harvey Shaw Jr., age 70, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at his home in Hudson, NH. He was born on May 20, 1948 in Lowell, MA, the son of the late Lister Harvey Sr. and Dorothy (Davies) Shaw.
Harvey proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He established R&H Automotive Center in Lowell, MA where he was the owner and principal mechanic for more than 20 years. Harvey was a “car guy”, often pointing out year, make and model on cars in movies or merely from the parts. He collected and restored antique cars and won numerous national competitions with his 1967 Shelby Cobra and his 1956 Mercury Monterey. Harvey also had a passion for animals, especially his dogs Lily and Jasmine. He was a sustaining member of the ASPCA.
Harvey loved listening to Classic Rock, especially Elvis Presley, the Beatles, and ZZ Top. He enjoyed painting, and was a second degree black belt in Kempo Karate. Harvey was kind, unfailingly dependable, and will be remembered for his unique sense of humor and indelible charm. He was loved by all and will be deeply missed.
Harvey is survived by his two children and their spouses, Jennifer and her husband Michael McComas of Hudson, NH and Adam Shaw and his wife Lydia of Tyngsborough, MA; six grandchildren, Rowan, Maeve, Chloe, Declan, Amelia and Naomi and a sister Gail and her husband Ray Thompson of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Harvey also leaves behind many other loving extended family members and dear friends.
SERVICES: All are welcome to attend a celebration of Harvey’s life on Thursday September 27 at 10:00AM at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 214 Main St, Nashua. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation in Harvey’s name are encouraged to do so to the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) at www.aspca.org or at 1(800) 628-0028.
